Tell Congress: Reject Funding Vouchers in the COVID Bill

Published by

Emboldened by the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Espinoza v. Montana Dept. of Revenue, the Trump/DeVos administration has revealed a new plan to add a federally funded private school voucher scheme into the government’s next coronavirus relief package.

Tell Congress to REJECT private school vouchers and instead, fund America’s public schools.

Private schools have received hundreds of millions in total from PPP funds. It is now apparent that De Vos is using the crisis to further her privatization agenda.

It is critically important that we speak out now!

My name is (your name) and I am calling today to ask (Representative’s or Senator’s name) to reject any effort to include private school vouchers in the next COVID-19 relief legislation. In addition to effectively stripping students of many of their civil rights, vouchers undermine religious freedom, lack accountability, and harm students’ educational outcomes. We would better support students’ needs during this difficult time by funding our public schools, not experimenting with ineffective private school voucher programs.  Thank you for listening.

Thank you for all that you do.
