NPE Action Endorses Pooja Sethi for Texas House District 47.

The Network for Public Education Action is proud to endorse Pooja Sethi for Texas House District 47.

Pooja Sethi has been on the front lines of the fight to stop privatization. As Chief of Staff to Representative Vikki Goodwin, she spent four years inside the Texas Legislature working to defeat privatization efforts and protect the public dollars that belong in public classrooms. She didn’t just watch those battles — she helped shape the strategy to win them.

Sethi’s position is unambiguous: she opposes vouchers, and she opposes charter schools. Public tax dollars, she believes, must go to public schools — schools with boards of education elected by communities they serve. That’s not a talking point for her. It’s a commitment she’s backed up with four years of legislative work, and one she will carry onto the House floor when she wins in November.

Her commitment to children extends beyond the school funding fight. Sethi believes no child strongly supports free school meals for every K–12 student in Texas. S. Before her work at the Capitol, she represented vulnerable families as an immigration attorney — giving her a firsthand understanding of what’s at stake when government fails the people it’s supposed to protect.

When Pooja Sethi takes her seat in the Texas Legislature, she will bring something it badly needs: a lawmaker who knows exactly how the system works, who has spent years fighting to make it work for children and public schools, and who will not stop. Texas public school students deserve a champion like her in Austin.

We agree. Pooja Sethi is the candidate public education supporters in Texas House District 47 should vote for on November 3rd.
