The Network for Public Education Action is proud to endorse Jennifer Hall Lee for Pasadena Unified School District Board of Trustees, District 2, California. Jennifer has been a  trustee for the Pasadena Unified School District since 2020. In the first three years, she has helped to create the Superintendent’s Enrollment Committee and has been a Captain on that committee since 2023. She is also Captain of the Design Team that collaborated with a Steering Committee to develop the PUSD Five Year Plan in 2023. She chairs the PUSD Student Safety and School Climate Committee and was responsible for creating town meetings to meet PUSD Principals. Jennifer has always been a champion for children, families, and educators in PUSD.

When Jennifer is re-elected, she will focus on student achievement. She will work hard with the district superintendent and staff to increase graduation rates. Jennifer will also continue her work for inclusive practices for students with disabilities. Her mother was one of the whistleblowers who helped close Willowbrook State School in the early 1970s. What followed was deinstitutionalization in the United States.

Jennifer’s campaign message is centered around children and their families. She shared with NPE Action that her message is, “Public education is at the heart of our communities and our democracy. It is up to us to invigorate and expand public education opportunities for all children.”  Her entire tenure on the board has always been grounded in strengthening the district so that all children can succeed.

As Jennifer looks to the future to improve education, she will focus on inclusive practices in all schools. She is working with the superintendent and staff on this and she is proud to report that PUSD has full inclusive practices in two of their schools. Jennifer stated that they are working on having it in all schools. She will work hard on funding and on advocating for more funding for IDEA.

When she is re-elected, Jennifer will continue to work hard for all children and families in the Pasadena Unified School District. She will continue to be a trustee who will listen, educate, and advocate for public education. NPE Action urges District 2  public education supporters in Pasadena, California to get out the vote for Jennifer in the Primary on November 5th.
