Christina Smith for IPS School Board District 4 Seat

Published by

Christina Smith helped found IPS Community Coalition in 2017 to “help uplift community and parent voices, combat racial and educational inequity, as well as fight against the privatization of Indianapolis Public Schools.”

Christina is running against an incumbent who, according to Christina, “caters to pro-privatization groups over parents and the community.” Her opponent voted to close multiple legacy high schools, while in the same year voting to take on 3 charter high schools as innovation high schools.

As an IPS School board member Christina told us that she would continue to advocate for a moratorium on any new charters, and for charter authorizers to increase the transparency of their authorized schools.

She also does not support vouchers in any way, saying that “no public tax dollars should go to support private schools.”

Please be sure to go to the polls on November 3rd to support Christina Smith for IPS School Board District 4 Seat.
